At 1160 meters above sea level, far from the noise and rhythm of the city, artist David Leitner reconnects with the essentials of his craft. On a remote farm in rural Austria, the fading summer light, cool mountain air, and wide open space set the stage for a unique creative process. This is not just about making art—it’s about observing, listening, and collaborating. Alongside his loyal Galgo Español, Mikado, and through the observant lens of photographer Johanna Lamprecht, David’s work unfolds as both a painting and a photo series—each piece informing the other.

This project marks a clear departure from graffiti’s urban roots. Using Montana GOLD 400ml spray paint and Montana Acrylics, David brings bold, synthetic color into a natural, organic setting. The deep reds and sharp lines sit in deliberate contrast to the soft greens of the meadow and the textures of the farmhouse walls. Johanna’s photography captures this tension beautifully—light and shadow, material and meaning—resulting in imagery that’s as layered as the work itself.

At the center of the piece is Muzza, Johanna’s cat, depicted in a majestic pose that reflects both strength and vulnerability. The figure becomes a symbol of nature’s duality: hunter and prey, power and fragility. Mikado’s quiet presence in the background adds a touch of authenticity—reminding viewers that this creation is grounded in the real, everyday rhythm of rural life.

Here, the use of spray cans and high-pigment acrylics against a rustic landscape sparks a dialogue between two worlds: the synthetic and the natural. This interplay challenges traditional ideas of where graffiti belongs and what it can express. Through Johanna’s camera, the entire process becomes a narrative—documenting not just a finished artwork, but the atmosphere, collaboration, and ephemeral beauty of its making.

In the end, this is more than a painting or a series of photos. It’s a meditation on place, time, and the quiet power of shared creation. A fleeting Alpine summer becomes the backdrop for a moment where art lives, breathes, and evolves—with every brushstroke, spray, and shutter click.
