Arte Urbano 2017 Rancagua Chile

The silo is a perfect structure for both its main purpose of storing grain, but also an ideal surface for urban art. Preferrably with premium German spray paint that is purpose made to fulfill both the artists and the surfaces needs. Enter artists Philippe Carrera and Miguel Chacoff, who have been doing an amazingly large project called Arte Urbano en Las Alturas in Rancagua, Chile. With some color assistance thanks to Montana GOLD made possible with the help of our local Montana-Cans supplier Color Animal @coloranimalcl, four silos of a potential 12 were painted with imagery inspired by the local fauna and flora and to create awareness and interest in the protection of the local Andes mountain region.

These artworks by Carrera and Chacoff are the first of a four year project where eventually all of the silos will be covered with artwork one year at a time. Check out the making of and environmental context of the project here, as some great filming and drone footage captures the color, scale and immensity of the location and it’s new artworks.
