In the heart of Modena, Italy, where the old meets the new, and tradition coexists with innovation, a remarkable event unfolded that left the town buzzing with excitement. The man behind this artistic spectacle is none other than Pablo Allison, a renowned graffiti artist and muralist who has graced the streets of Modena with his extraordinary talent. In collaboration with Urbaner, a local cultural initiative by the city’s Culture Department and curated by Pietro Rivasi, this mural project came to life, leaving a lasting mark on the city’s urban landscape. Pietro Rivasi, a former graffiti writer who has dedicated years to the world of street art and underground culture, initiated the Urbaner project in 2020. The aim was to create a regional Study Center focused on countercultures, with a particular emphasis on graffiti and urban art. Over time, Urbaner expanded its scope, embracing various urban countercultures and adopting a more inclusive approach. This evolution paved the way for the Assedio fair, an exciting event that opened its doors to a wide array of urban countercultural expressions.

In the context of Assedio, Pablo Allison was invited to Modena to present the new book of “The Light Of The Beast,” released in conjunction with Beyond the Streets UK, and for the occasion decided to grace, one more time, the city with his vibrant artwork. Thanks to the collaboration between Urbaner and its partners, Pablo was granted permission to transform a wall in the venue’s vicinity into a breathtaking mural that would captivate the city’s residents and visitors alike. What made this mural project even more special was the collaborative spirit that defined it. Zelle Asphaltkultur group from Germany, inspired by Pablo’s work, added their creative touch to the mural, infusing it with an explosive energy that lit up the surroundings. The mural became a living testament to the dynamic exchange of ideas and creativity that thrives within the global urban art community.

Notably, Pablo Allison was not alone in this endeavor. His fellow artist and friend from Australia, known as txt_010101 on Instagram, joined the project and lent a helping hand. Together, they worked tirelessly to bring the mural to life, turning an ordinary wall into a vibrant canvas that told a story of unity, collaboration, and the power of art to transcend boundaries.
The mural in Modena, Italy, by Pablo Allison and his collaborators, stands as a testament to the power of art to bring people together and transform urban spaces into living works of art. It reflects the ever-evolving nature of countercultures and the spirit of creativity that continues to thrive in cities around the world. As Modena’s urban landscape evolves, this mural will serve as a vivid reminder of the city’s commitment to fostering creativity, diversity, and the celebration of urban art in all its forms.
