With his second documentary book, Ukrainian graffiti artist RUBAE once again turns his focus to one of the rawest and most uncompromising disciplines of graffiti culture: painting on freight trains. The new publication brings together works created between 2023 and 2025 — a period marked by extreme contrasts, combining some of the darkest and brightest moments of our contemporary history. While RUBAE’s first book gained wide international recognition, reaching 28 countries and becoming a visual map of graffiti journeys, this second volume takes a more personal and introspective direction.

Under one cover, the book unites freight train compositions painted across Ukraine and abroad. Many of these works were created under extraordinary conditions — often accompanied by air raid sirens, constant uncertainty, and the awareness that every journey involved real risk. These circumstances give the pieces an added layer of intensity and authenticity.

Alongside new material, the book includes archival photographs from previous years, offering insight into RUBAE’s artistic development. Visually, the publication combines new conceptual typefaces with classic graffiti forms and compositions — a tribute to the roots of graffiti culture and a conscious effort to merge tradition with contemporary expression.

The result is more than a photo book. It is a visual document of graffiti as a living, resilient art form — captured on moving steel.
