TPM lays down the phunk in Karlsruhe – Germany

It has been a long time since the arrival of the American graffiti media storm, in the form of movies and music. And since then, German graffiti has become a unique and extremely diverse culture unto itself. With its own vibrant stories and its own rich history.

A big part of the German graffiti movement story happened in the southern part of Germany. As part of the Southern German graffiti style writing movement evolved in the early to mid-’90s, so did the Heidelberg-based crew, “The Phunk Masters.” TPM, as they are also known, has played a substantial role in the development of German graffiti style writing not only in their own backyard but in the rest of Germany and beyond as well.

“TPM … has played a substantial role in the development of German graffiti style writing”

With more than 2 generations of history behind them, these days it is not so easy to get the whole crew in the same place at once. That is until the alarm bells were rung, and the Montana BLACK and GOLD cans stood at the ready for “The Phunk Masters Meeting 2021”, in the neighboring city of Karlsruhe.

“… it is not so easy to get the whole crew in the same place at once.”

Although not all members were present, those that were proved that they still have the phunk. Dynamic colors filled in a broad selection of classic and contemporary styles, while the backgrounds were executed with just as much care and characters. If you can’t get to Karlsruhe to see it for yourself, take a moment to lose yourself in the endless walls of color here.
