The Städtische Galerie of Bremen (Municipal Gallery) is interested in connecting the web of art making and artists, to the benefit of the arts making community and art appreciating community. With a view to the future, the DIALOGUE series of exhibitions looks to bring the work of cutting edge local artists outwardly to the international community, while bringing the international arts community inward to the humming Bremen arts machine. For the current exhibition in the series,“Long Distance“, local artist Markus Genesius (Wow123) and renowned international German artists Mirko Reisser (DAIM), have been called on to share their visual stories and strengthen the web of artworks which shine in the former brewery building that is, the Städtische Galerie of Bremen.

Opening on November 5th 2017, the show runs through till January 7th, 2018.

Never has a such a merge adorned the walls of the gallery with an effective marriage of Reisser‘s classic graffiti lettering which is camouflaged in an amazing three dimensional world of abstraction. With the visual world of Genesius that is full of colorful explosions, geometrical plains and lines, swimming in the pools of overspray, drips and splatters that we know and love in art made with Montana-Cans, the classic German spray paint. Both artists share a background in traditional graffiti writing and display an immense level of technical ability and visual literacy in works that are obviously next level for both the fine art and graffiti viewer. Every visual decision made in both artists works are clear, educated and fueled with generations of graffiti and studio art making history.
