Danish artist Anders Reventlov explores the space between graffiti, drawing, and abstract writing. Rooted in graffiti culture since 1996, his artistic journey began along the train tracks of Bredballe, Denmark. What started as a passion for writing has evolved into an experimental practice that challenges the boundaries of letters, gestures, and visual expression.

Working primarily in black and white, Reventlov focuses on the handwritten mark as a powerful form of personal expression in an increasingly digital world. Through his method “Traces of Actions,” he collects gestural marks from public spaces and transforms them into abstract compositions he calls “letterscapes.”

Central to his recent work is the word AGORA, which refers to both “now” in Portuguese and a public gathering place in ancient Greek culture. By deconstructing and reimagining its letters, Reventlov creates a visual dialogue about presence, communication, and human connection.

Deeply connected to Scandinavian graffiti history, Reventlov continues to push the possibilities of traditional name writing while staying true to its roots. His work has been exhibited in Denmark and internationally, including Brazil, Japan, and the Netherlands. More than just letters, his work is about leaving a mark, claiming space, and expressing yourself – here and NOW. Based on excerpts from Abstract Graffiti Magazine (AGM), Issue 10.
